When I found Qigong , I had just embarked on a journey of mental healing and was searching for a practice that would provide me peace of mind and personal growth. As I am a working mom of four kids, a quiet space to myself is hard to come by. Soon after discovering the Qigong practice , I realized its profound mental and spiritual healing impacts and was delighted to find that it could fit simply into my schedule. Qigong presents the perfect balance between strengthening the body and mind. The practice provides a healthy space to indulge our spirituality and mental health so that we can find calm and even overcome barriers and blockages. The self-empowerment one can feel by simply giving themselves the time to slow down and tap into energy inspires me.
I have worked as a physical therapist assistant for over 20 years, and over that time I have aided people of all ages recovering from or nursing illnesses and injuries. Throughout my career I have been witness to the expected and unexpected decline of the mind and body as we age . This made me question what we can be doing to increase our energy in order to promote overall health and wellness. I believe that Qigong is one of the best practices we can invite into our lives to support our present and future selves, and I hope I can share this message throughout my community.
